The cleaner the photo we take, the more accurately your presenter is built, and every video after that inherits the result. Outfits are added on screen afterward, so keeping it simple today costs you nothing.

Best result. Nothing near the throat to go wrong. Recommended.

Still very good. The collar is a small variable between videos.

Acceptable, but not ideal. More layers means more that can shift between videos.

What to skip on the day

Skip anything that closes around the throat

A tie is the thing most people ask about. The software finds the line of your jaw and the neck below it, and it uses that edge to make you move naturally when you speak; anything that closes around your throat hides it. The photo needs an open neckline, and what you wear on screen is decided afterward.

Color

Choose

One solid color, clearly dark or clearly light. Either end works. The middle causes trouble.

Navy
Charcoal

Avoid

  • Mid-tones and grays. A mid gray shirt blends into the studio background, and the edges of you go soft.
  • Anything green, including teal, olive, sage, mint and lime. It may interfere with our post-production green-screen technology.
  • Patterns, stripes, checks, logos and busy prints. They interfere with clear, error-free production of your videos.
  • Pure white and pure black. They lose their edges.

What to expect at your session

Video

Straight-on, angled, and profile shots, then a two minute video so we can capture how you speak and move.

Audio

Two one minute recordings: one reading material we provide, and one that is simply conversational.
